The Undefeated One

By Lou Vincent

My wife calls me "the eternal optimist". It is often said jokingly, and taken lightly. We chuckle and move on. On closer examination, however, the true power of this state of mind can be observed in one's actions. With application perpetual optimism can become the key to unlock wealth, happiness and peace of mind.

Have you ever met an "eternal optimist"? This is the kind of person that demonstrates no self doubt, that lives by and espouses his/her belief that all things are possible. These folks appear to believe that if you know what you want, believe you can get it, plan, prepare and work hard for it, it will come. These are the kinds of people who say things like, "It's not how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get up that counts!" or, "If you must fall, fall forward!"

These are the same people who turn what seem to be great obstacles into steppingstones to success. Not only do they see obstacles as opportunities, but they actually believe that the universe is conspiring to help them be successful. They think they are destined for individual greatness, and they plan to achieve it by identifying and anchoring to their life purpose and mission. The kind of person I am speaking of is undaunted in his/her quest, passionate in their pursuits; goal focused, and possesses the ability to cut through adversity like a laser through wax.

Eternal optimists are those folks that we know as leaders, heroes and role models. They are those who represent the top 3-5% of the world's population. They are the brain trust that is on the cutting edge of societal evolution. They create the world that the rest live in. These are the masters of positive thinking, and they run from negative mental influences like the devil runs from holy water! These masters of positive thought are ever present in our environment and they give free lessons. The only cost to you is the time you must invest in observation, emulation and practice of the "eternal optimist" mindset.

All is mind, and as you think, so will you go. Through the magic of eternal optimism, you too can join the ranks of "The Undefeated."
